1st Month

Monthly Report

Week 1 (07/03/2022 - 12/03/2022)

Start my very first day of internship at Sin-Kung Logistics Sdn Bhd. I registered at the guard house when I reached office. Next, I reported myself to human resource (HR) department. There was a briefing session conducted by HR on some information about the company profile, working days, rules and regulation that all employees need to follow. After orientation session done, a company tour was organized by HR department to introduce me to each of the departments. 

Next, I reported my duty to my company supervisor - Ms Ameline. Ms Ameline passed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each of the departments that registered under ISO for me to read and familiar with it. Ms Ameline did explained on company structures in order for me to understand better on the SOPs. 

I continued reading on the SOPs for each of the departments. 

During these few days, Ms Ameline will asked some spontaneous questions on the SOPs to value my understanding on the procedures. I will always consult Ms Ameline when I faced any difficulties in understanding the procedures. 

I have learned on having SOPs makes it easy to replicate processes across organization and SOPs makes it easy to find out what policies and procedures are in place to handle repetitive business scenarios or tasks and standardizes many crucial processes.

Week 2 (14/03/2022 - 19/07/2022)

Continue my 2nd week internship in understanding SOPs for each of the departments.

I spent my whole week in understanding all the departments form, chart and table which are needed for all the departments in completing their daily tasks. I have to make sure the form, chart and table are in the latest version, and make sure all the departments are using the correct form in completing their daily works. 

I have also spending the whole week in understanding the documentation of ISO documents. Documentation for ISO documentation is really important in compliance the quality of the company and a comprehensive review of an organization's adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Week 3 (21/03/2022 - 26/03/2022)

Start my 3rd week with haulier driver voucher. 

Ms Ameline explained and taught on the haulier shipment for me to have better understanding before proceed to do the trip claim. Basically, haulier shipment can be divided into import shipment and export shipment. Haulier driver trip claim is divided into 3 parts which is trip claim, touch and go claim and diesel claim. Format to prepare and calculate the trip claim was shown by Ms Ameline. Once the explanation done, I went back to my own table and start doing it. 

I continued doing the haulier driver trip claim as per assigned by Ms Ameline. 

Week 4 (28/03/2022 - 02/04/2022)

In the 4rd week, I get more familiar to the haulier voucher by practicing myself. 

Due to the closing period of the haulier voucher is on the end of every month. Hence, this week I am in charge to complete all the haulier voucher in order to meet the due date. Lastly, I managed to complete all the voucher that have been assigned. 

I have learned on meeting deadlines is usually an effective way to help in completing tasks according to their importance. Given that time is limited and there are multiple ways in which can spend it, deciding on what is most important to do and setting deadlines for those tasks can help to make better use of time. Prioritization can help in focusing on the tasks that are likely to produce the most favorable outcomes.

Week 5 (04/04/2022 - 09/04/2022)

Start my 5th week of internship, I have been assigned to do Covid-19 report for the employee that has been tested positive. I have to contact those employee and get their Covid info. For instance, their vaccination status, and their symptoms on their recovery stage. Besides, I also in charged in arranging either PCR or RTK test for those employee who have already met their quarantine requirement which is set by our government. 

For those who are close contact to the positive cases, we will arranged them to self quarantine either in the office or home based on the availability of the quarantine room. 

Once I have done for the report, I have to update to our HR Manager in daily basis.
